Cost Considerations For Sitecore Content Hub

October 25, 2021

By Theresa Gutierrez

According to Sitecore, “97% of senior marketers today say that producing and publishing personalized digital content more quickly is a priority.” To gain a competitive advantage, marketing teams need to streamline their content creation, management, and distribution processes to get the right content to the right audience, on the right channel at the right time.

This blog will cover how Sitecore Content Hub can streamline the content workflow of your organization and how your business needs will affect your licensing costs.

Sitecore Content Hub consists of five modules, each responsible for one vital role in unifying your content workflow into one integrated solution:

  • Media - Sitecore Digital Asset Management (DAM)
  • Project - Sitecore Marketing Resource Management (MRM)
  • Content - Sitecore Content Marketing Platform (CMP)
  • Product - Sitecore Product Content Marketing (PCM)*
  • Print - Sitecore Web-To-Print (W2P)

*Sitecore PCM is included in the Sitecore DAM license.

Is Sitecore Content Hub Right For Your Business?

Before we dive into the factors that make up Sitecore Content Hub pricing, it pays to first understand if it is right for your organization. Consider the following questions to see if Sitecore Content Hub is a good fit:

  1. Which systems does your business have in place to handle an integration?
  2. What is your organization's the weakest links within your current content lifecycle?
  3. How will this technology implementation affect your current teams and processes?
  4. What are the strongest aspects of your content lifecycle and workflow?
  5. How does your organization currently personalize content?
  6. Do you manage digital as well as print assets?

What Are You Getting?

Sitecore Content Hub is available and licensed through the Sitecore managed cloud. This Sitecore Content Hub cloud license will be based on several factors, including how many user seats will be allocated to your account. This number of seats dictates the number of users who can use the modules.

Sitecore Content Hub pricing is separated into three levels of involvement: Professional, Corporate, and Enterprise.

Content Modelling

Content modelling in Sitecore Content Hub comes in two forms: pre-defined content models and free-form content modelling:

Pre-Defined Content Model Templates:

  • DAM allows the management of media files (assets) & products as a core data type
  • CMP allows the management of content marketing materials
  • MRM allows the management of projects and campaigns

Free-Form Content Modelling: Templates can be configured to new data types and structure that can be related to any assets, products, content, and campaigns.

For example, a media company can create a model to match their business needs: channels, series, seasons, episodes, and actors.

It is important to note that more complex product hierarchies may not be supported by the out-of-the-box pre-defined content models, and may need a free-form content modelling subscription.
